I posted this blog on the CLC Social Network, but I also wanted to post it here. It was concerning an article in USA Today concerning men in church. It says that "women outnumber men in church attendance in every major Christian denomination, and they are 20% to 25% more likely to attend worship at least weekly." Now I think that has always been the case for the modern church, but there were some other interesting comments that I thought were interesting. The article also mentions some innovative things that churches are doing to attract men, everything from "manly events" to changing the decor of the church. Another surprising quote from the article really made me think, "...if a child comes to Christ, 12% of the time the whole family will follow...If the mom comes, there's a 15% chance the family will. But if the man comes to church, 90% of the time the family will come along behind." Wow, just think about the influence men make for their families!
Those are good odds for me.
